In short
Showdown Club is a poker trainer. We store only what the club needs to work, show no ads, use no trackers and never sell your data to anyone. If you yourself ask the AI coach a question, the question and the calculations for the hand are sent to Anthropic's AI service (details below).
What we store
Telegram data that comes in when you log in: Telegram ID (the permanent account number), name, @username (if any), a link to your profile photo and language. The club nickname you came up with yourself. Hands you uploaded yourself from a room's history (opponents' nicknames in them are already encrypted by the room). Results of training, tasks and daily challenges.
Country
To show a country flag next to your name (if this feature is turned on in the club), we detect the country from your browser's time zone and IP address — using a database on our own server, with no requests to third-party services. We store only the country code; the IP address itself is not saved and not written to the club's logs. You can choose the country yourself or hide the flag in the profile menu. IP country data — IP Geolocation by DB-IP (db-ip.com), licensed under CC BY 4.0.
What we don't store
Phone number, messages, contacts, payment details and passwords. Telegram doesn't pass them to us.
Cookies and browser
We set one cookie — for logging in (valid for 90 days). Your language is stored in your browser; trainer settings are stored in your browser and on our side, so that your filters are already filled in the next time you log in.
Visit statistics
We count site visits ourselves, without Google Analytics or other services: which page is open, language, where the visitor came from (e.g. search or Telegram), whether it's a phone or a computer. To count unique visitors, the browser stores a random number not linked to you. We don't save IP addresses or browser data. Records older than 180 days are deleted.
What everyone can see
Other members and site visitors see only your club nickname (until you have one — “Player N”, where N is your number in the club). Your first name, last name, @username and Telegram ID from Telegram, as well as your photo, are not shown to anyone. The home page has a public club feed: the latest placement tests (nickname, level, percentage and time) and leaders of the daily and weekly challenge. Inside the club, members see your nickname, rank, progress in the school and training, and your real-play accuracy — the accuracy can be hidden (“Hide my real-play accuracy from other members”). A hand you shared by link is visible to everyone who has the link — with your nickname; the link can be deleted. If you don't want to be in the feed, message the bot @showdownclubbot — we'll remove you.
AI coach
If the AI coach is available to you in the club and you ask it a question, that question and our engine's calculations for the situation (your cards and the board, the hand's actions, chart frequencies, grades of your decisions, training stats) are sent to Anthropic's AI service (the Claude model) so it can write an answer. Your name, Telegram ID and @username are not sent. On our side we keep a log of questions without names (an anonymized number, the question, the answer, the calculations, your rating of the answer) — to count the daily limit and improve the coach. Nothing is sent without your question.
Telegram
Login works through Telegram's official widget and bot, under Telegram's rules. The bot only messages you if you started it yourself or allowed it to message you when logging in.
Deletion and your rights
You can delete your account and all data at any time: in the club, “My game” → “Upload” → “Delete my account and all data”. Deletion is permanent. If you want a copy of your data or need something corrected, message the bot.
